ESPACE 4 GALLERY
Opened in 1996, Espace4 Gallery was exclusively devoted to Japanese art, specializing particularly in the arts of the Samurai. Fifteen years later, Espace 4 maintains a prominent position to all lovers of this ancient art.
Laurence Souksi and Frantz Fray assumed direction of the gallery in 2005. Their arrival was a turning point in its history.
The areas of expertise and collections extend to all Asian arts and specifically to Chinese snuff bottles.
To satisfy all tastes, collectors and amateurs can now find in the gallery a wide choice of antiques coming from Japan, China and other Asian countries (Tibet, Korea, Vietnam …).
Laurence Souksi has been passionated for Chinese snuff bottles for twenty years. She has been an expert at the CNES (Chambre Nationale des Experts Spécialisés) since 2002. Member of the "International Chinese Snuff Bottle Society," she participates every year at the Convention organized by this American Association, which involves the most famous collectors and dealers.
She presents a set of antique Chinese snuff bottles unique in France at Espace 4 Gallery, and offers advice to collectors and beginners.
Franz Fray discovered Japanese art in the early 1980's when he started collecting Japanese prints. Gradually, his interest in Japan led him to develop his knowledge of Chinese and Asian arts. He thus became an antique dealer in 1993. He is the only expert in Japanese art from the CNES (Chambre Nationale des Experts Spécialisés).
