Inlaid four-case lacquer inro. Decorated with hiramakie and takamakie techniques with gold, silver.
One side with the poetess Murasaki Shikibu in shibuichi, shakudo, gold, silver and copper takazogan. She is sitting on the terrace of the Ishiyama Dera temple handling a tanzaku. She is writing the Genji Monogatari. The reverse decorated with the Biwa Lake, and mountains in the background.
