Description

A black lacquer four-case inro, decorated on a ro-iro ground in iroe togidashi, hiramakie and e-nashiji with a bijin sitting at a table holding a brush and looking for inspiration in front of several tanzaku. The other side decorated with a lantern and books.
The scene is inspired by a Ch bunsai Eishi Print: The courtesan Morokoshi from Echizenya House, from the series: «Six beauties of the green houses compared to the six immortal poets» (Seirō bijin rokkasen) Circa 1795.
