An Ivory netsuke, katabori type (in three dimensions), representing the goddess Okame holding in his hands a crane, or tsuru, in origami.
The crane is an important animal for Japan, a major peace symbol. And a legend says that “anyone who folds a thousand paper cranes will have their wish granted.”
