Description
Wooden Katabori netsuke representing the famous Buddhist monk Daruma, Japanese name of Bodhidharma who according to legend imported Zen Buddhism to Japan. He is represented in his classic form, draped and seated in meditation. One of the himotoshi is surrounded by ivory. It is signed in a stamp that is difficult to identify.
